Pastor Jay Huddleston serves as Senior Pastor, here, at First Baptist. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He began in ministry as a church planter in Florida. He and his wife, Shirley, working with the North American Mission Board, were privileged to found the Shindler Drive Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Before coming to New Port Richey he also served as the Senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cary, North Carolina.

As a Biblically based teacher, Pastor Jay loves to draw application from Scripture that helps his listeners face today’s life issues and grow as followers of Jesus Christ. As a pastor he has consistently emphasized three elements in ministry – evangelism, discipleship and missions. He has preached and ministered throughout the South and Midwest as well as traveling on mission to Africa, South East Asia and Puerto Rico.

Pastor Jay and his wife, Shirley, have two sons, Kaleb (and his wife, Kristen) and Joel.

He enjoys the beach, golf and spending time with his wife and family.




Rev. Mickey Burroughs serves as the Minister of Administration & Education.  He has been on staff at First Baptist since the summer of 2001.

Rev. Kurt McKinnon is the Minister of Music and Media.  Coming on staff in the summer of 2001, Kurt has led the church musically in many endeavors.

Rev. Rich Andrews has been on staff part time as the music and media Associate since 2009.  His full time position is at Word of Life Florida in Hudson where he serves as the Director of the ministry there.  Rich and Lynn were married in 1994 and have three energetic kids, Gavyn, Javen and Lynneah. In his spare time he enjoys, hunting, basketball and hanging out with his family.  His life verses are Proverbs 3:5,6.  More about Word of Life Florida. DanFahn23 Daniel Fahning is currently serving as our Interim Minister to Students.
Daniel has been on staff with Word of Life since 2013, doing a variety of ministries. He was born and raised in North Carolina, and was saved when he was 7 years old during a youth summer camp.  In 2011 Daniel attended the Word of Life Bible Institute where he met his wife, Lindsey, they were married in 2015 and just had their first child, Zakar, on July 25, 2016. In his spare time, Daniel roasts his own coffee. His life verses are Romans 12:1-2.
